Happy Halloween 2011!

My 9 year old son carved this pumpkin today all on his own, and even shot it with his bow and arrow.  He is quite the archer and pumpkin carver.  We will be out enjoying Halloween with our two boys tonight.  We are all dressed for the occasion and ready to enjoy the uptown Halloween annual festivities.

 My little Ninja and I posing for a quick pic.  It's hard to see, but I have a spider dangling from my eye.  That's the extent of my face painting for tonight.

Of course my big S.W.A.T. man.

I don't usually do press on nails, but these were to much fun to pass up.  I had to wear my Forbidden Fruit Ring (available in my shop) to complement my vampire look.

I made myself a vampire bite necklace and blood drop earrings.  It's hard to tell from the picture, but I  have body glitter on, because we all know vampires sparkle in the sun.

And we made it to the party!

My Cell Phone Bill Was What?!

I won't even have to stop using a "Smart" phone.  They have brand name phones from leading manufacturers, including Motorola, Kyocera, LG, Nokia,  and Samsung.  You can choose from simple "Candy Bar" phones, to Bluetooth enable- "Smart" phones.  Again there are no contracts, you can simply pay as you go online or with cards available at thousands of retail stores across the country. They offer 1 year service cards, for a wonderful value, that give you double minutes for the life of your TracFone and 800 minutes for only $119.  Double minutes for the life of your phone is included with some models, but no worries, you can purchase it for only $19.99.  They have a monthly plan with 200 minutes for only $30.00, and as low as $9.99 for 50 minutes.
What about international long distance, well I looked into that too.  This is the only wireless service that lets you pay the same amount for international calls as any other call!   With the International Neighbors program you can provide family members and friends in Canada and Mexico a local phone number in those countries to reach you on your TracFone in the U.S.
Well the monthly fees are super affordable, but what about the cost of the phone.  I looked into that too. They have phones under $10 that provide your basic call and texting needs, or they have "Smart" phones for $29.99!  That means I won't have to give up my camera/video recorder, web access (as a blogger you know I need that), app capabilities (my kids won't have to give up Angry Birds), MP3 player for gym time, and a full QWERTY keyboard!

Thanksgiving Casserole

Around this time of year I start craving that upcoming Thanksgiving feast.  To satisfy my cravings, I will often prepare a casserole like this one, that has all those thanksgiving flavors I know and love.  The best part is, it is super easy to prepare.  This recipe can also be used after Thanksgiving, to help use up all those leftovers.

Ingredients:

butter flavored non stick spray

5 slices of sandwich bread

1 (14.5 oz ) can of turkey gravy

3.3 oz of dry Betty Crocker Homestyle Creamy Butter Instant Mashed Potatoes

1 3/4 cups warm water (for potatoes)

16 thin slices of deli turkey or leftover turkey

6 oz dry Turkey stuffing Mix

1 (10 3/4 oz)  can of condensed cream of mushroom soup heart healthy or reduced sodium

To prepare:

First preheat your oven to 350 F degrees. Spray your baking dish with non stick butter flavored spray. Tear bread apart by hand and place in the bottom of your baking dish.  Top bread with half of your gravy. Mix in a separate bowl your instant mashed potatoes and warm water.  Spread potatoes on top of bread and gravy. Top potatoes with your sliced turkey. Then top turkey with your dry stuffing mix (do not add water). Now pour the rest of your gravy and your soup on top of stuffing.  Bake for 25 minutes, or until all is hot and bubbly, and stuffing is crispy on top.
