I have a special treat for you all at Bacon Time today. I am a huge fan of stand up comedy. I believe that laughter really can be the best medicine. When ever I am feeling blue, I will snuggle on the couch with my husband and watch some stand up comedy. Before watching most stand up acts, we usually have to send the kids to their rooms, or wait until they are asleep, due to the general content and language in most shows. I enjoyed watching all of the video clips. They really made me think about my own funny childhood memories. I remember as a child growing up, we were aloud to run around all day outside unsupervised. I would never think of letting my kids do this today. I remember my mom always hated when we would run inside and outside a lot, probably because we were tracking in dirt or mud. I remember you would have to make a big decision on Saturday morning, were you going to play outside all day or inside. My folks would not stand for us running in back and forth all day long.
One of my favorite videos from the collection was "Momma Talk" by Bill Bellamy . I could really relate to this video. I received the "talk" as a child, and give my energetic boys the "talk" too when visiting other folks homes. Hoping they will remember their manners while we are out, and prey they don't break anything.
I loved Mark Viera's video "In The Window". I think we all can relate to a nosey relative or neighbor that is always snooping out the window. Heck, I have had some neighbors that don't even stay inside, they are out in the middle of the street if anything exciting happens on the block. Not even trying to mind their own business.
