Why I love Avocados

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Avocados from Mexico for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Bag of avocados from Mexico
I love avocados because I feel like they are one of those foods that taste so good, I should feel guilty eating them, but I don't.  Fact is my doctor encourages me to eat avocados daily to level out my blood sugar and take in healthy fat, plus they are green, and my kids think that is pretty cool.  There are so many creative ways you can use avocados, for example our  guacamole tree and Grinch from December (pictured below).

At I love avocados on Facebook, you can download ringtones, blog badges, wallpaper/screensaver, or send a virtual gift.  I sent my guacamole loving hubby a virtual bag of avocados and love note;)  It was easy to do, the site will walk you through with step by step directions.  It only took a few seconds to send a virtual gift. You can find some wonderful free avocado recipes here at Avocados from Mexico.  You can stay connected and up to date with what's hot with avocados on Twitter @guacgrl. Share your love of avocados by tweeting #iloveavocados.

Your Mini Chef Could Win a $1,000 Cash Prize, Camcorder, Nitendo and More!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Avocados from Mexico for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
New Message
Wow talk about a wonderful prize package, for one grand prize wining Mini Chef.  One lucky kiddo, could walk away with a in $1,000 cash, an HD camcorder, a Nintendo 3D, 2 games, and a personalized mini chef jacket!!! There will be 9 runners up prizes too, so several kids will be walking away with a new camcorder, Nintendo, and jacket.
The Mini Chef Video Contest is hosted by Avocados from Mexico, and is running right now, for parents with children ages 5-15.  You have until Dec. 4th to get your 1-3 minute videos in. You will want to prepare a kid friendly avocado recipe. In the video you will want to have your child/children share why they love avocados, and the catchy Avocados from Mexico jingle found on their website.   Once you have submitted your recipe to Mini Chef Video Contest, check back on Dec. 6th to see if you have made it into the top 10. Public voting will take place Dec. 6-11 on YouTube. The video with the most likes wins the grand prize, but all top 10 finalists will be walking away with those fabulous prizes mentioned above.  Judges will be looking at personality and presence of avocados in the video.
What a great contest.  I love avocados, and the best part is they are so good for you. They are packed full of vitamins and nutrients essential for child development and growth.  As a hypoglycemic, my doctor encourages me to eat avocado daily.  Just 3 slices of this creamy green fruit (yes I checked it's a fruit), packs potassium, fiber, folate, vitamin C, E, and B-Complex vitamins, that support memory and brain function (sounds like it's a good thing I love them).  If your kids don't enjoy them already, then maybe this video contest can be a fun way to get them excited about this amazing fruit.

To get your juices flowing, here is my recipe for a  Fiesta Philly Guacamole, and yes it has bacon in it too.

Of course avocados are so much more then guacamole.  I can't wait to see all of your creative recipes for them. Please if you enter the contest, leave us a link below in a comment, so we can check out your kid(s) video, and if they make it to the top ten, vote to help them win!  Good Luck and get cooking.
